Comments (30)So for this to work, you need to go back through my question and make sure you have answered all of them the best you can. Is the electrical outlet for the counter space going to be right next to the switch, or is it that blurred spot that I see in the picture, . If your walls are Travertine marble, and there are not already electrical boxes in the exact location the lights go, we are going to have a hard time. If a 30" vanity goes in the corner, and you leave 5" on each side for the lights, that leaves a 20" mirror with one light jammed tight into the corner. So if we leave another inch on both sides, for clearance, that leaves 18" mirror. If you put a 3" frame around the mirror mirror, that only allows for 12" of actual mirror. I don't think that is enough mirror. Your bath is too narrow for a mirrored cabinet with built in lights unless it is recessed into th wall. The plumbing is probably in the way for that. Give me your thoughts on what I have just said, and then go back and answer all my questions. Then we can take it from there with a narrower down and focused search....See Morei need help for my formal living and unformal living and dinning
Comments (300)I think a comfortable distance between the island and the counter is around 42". It seems that you have only 30" between your cook top and the counter. I might be a little too tight. The wall between the entrance and the kitchen could be 4' long instead of 6', you would then be able to move the island a foot which would give you more room between the cook top and the island. Could you switch the location of the toilet and vanity in your dad's bathroom so your enter facing a vanity instead of a toilet which is a lot nicer....See Moreneed help for my bathroom
Comments (7)I did a house with nine bathrooms and it was so much fun. For the master bed we had his and hers separate ensuite bathrooms, so hers was feminine and victoruan; it even had a chandelier! His was white with a red shower wall and a blue and white border tile. The counter was tiled with red. It was a very cheerful little bathroom. The daughter's batH was blue and white, the border tiles and washbasin were Chinese themed. A very pretty bathroom. The two guest bathrooms were yellow and cream with hand painted sunflower accent tiles. One powder room was yellow and white, the other was beige with orange and green accents. It had a very whimsical washbasin with a hand painted frog inside. The pool house also has two bathrooms, more basic, mostly cream with wood accents. The colour comes from the stack of towels, red, blue, orange, lime green and yellow....See Moresuggest improvements for master bedroom
Comments (21)Lighting plays a huge part in adding depth and warmth to a bedroom. I see that you have a light point just above your bed. Without too much expense you can create panelling up to the ceiling , run the wires behind it, and maybe and add a simple false ceiling along the length of that wall to install recessed lighting. A skilled carpenter can modify the head board and create a dramatic taller tufted headboard within the panelling Another option would be to paint the wall behind the bed and add a simple shelf above. Some recessed lights can be added to light up paintings on the wall just above the bed. The homeowners of the bedroom shown here already had a bed which they did not want to dispose of or modify. So all we did was to add painted pinewood box panelling up to 4 feet height, add a shallow display shelf on it, and add a simple shelf above with recessed lights...See MoreBeverlyFLADeziner
