Your question is about finishing the brick, yes? In a Tropical environment, a top coat or parge relieves the brick from defending itself against the sun. Left in its current condition the brick will start to deteriorate. So the easiest solution is to apply a stucco coat that will be three coats, scratch, texture and color. If you want to spend more $, you can apply fastening strips called furring strips that will allow you to apply any surface such as siding or tile. Good Luck and send us some after pictures.
