Why to lay the tiles allover the existing tiles, it creates lot of problems at openings and interfere with height and existing fixed wall mounted furniture...better try to call an expert tile fixer , so that they will remove and fix the gap with other tiles without compromising the finish....which would be cost effective

Hi Ruephs.. thanks for you comment. I totally agree that laying tiles on tiles is not advisable. However, below are our current challenges:

• can’t remove and replace the damaged ones only, as we don’t have any spare tiles handy. These were given by builder some 3 years ago and no stock is available

• chance/probability of damaging adjacent tiles while removing the damaged ones, which will end up laying more tiles

• cost and time of removing the existing tiles, cleaning and disposing the rubble is costing way to high than laying new ones

• identifying and trusting so called experts is really difficult

We already have the wall mounts installed (TV panel) in the living room and cupboards in the guest bedroom.

Yes ..it is.....but in one restoration project ,as there were few damaged ones and its a terrazzo flooring, so to keep that essence and save cost, what we done was to replace the damaged ones, as we don't have that in Market, we removed all the tiles at corners and placed the removed ones in damages ones ...and ar corners we places a different flooring tiles , which gives a border for overall room ...
Yes ..I agree, ther are many things to consider , as we focus mostly on reusing the materials than wasting it even if the cost is same for reusing....

You can go for a laminate wood flooring or a carpet based flooring...as it takes less height and anyway there is a floor tiles which acts as a strong base ..so it can be a option.....

Laminate wood is hassle free and easy to maintain??

For Indian households , it takes maintenance , but use it in places where there is no much water or stains falling on that, and avoid using it on exterior....other that that, it's fine.......just try to keep.extra laminates floor panesl,.in case in repair, you can use that ...
