It seems to be Teak, which is a quite expensive wood. Lots of Yachts and Boats are made of Teak and it is used widely on decks, so, I still dont understand what your question is? What you are saying, is that because of the electrical and AC Vent, you need to drop the ceiling? Do you have straight walls/ceiling? can the wood be attached to the existing ceiling? The Carpenter installing the wood, could just lower the AC Vent and what kind of electrical are you talking about? The ceiling can lights?

OSB board will do the trick. You need another photo for us to offer a species and finish. Natural finish (clear coat...water based polyurethane finish...NO oil modified) in a low gloss or satin finish on white oak with FLOOD LIGHTS will offer the same "look" as the poor photo. Beyond that, you will need a better photo.

that's what I meant. The cabinets below and above the counter can be finished with a light toned wood grained laminate. if you feel that is too plain, another option would be to go with light wood grain below and plain off white above. Maybe add a couple of wood grained shutters above also to break the monotony

We want to replace our dinning table and tea table and plan to have both of Burma teak to be custom made . Still need to decide on wall paper , false ceiling and false partition . Dinning area and drawing area are in one area . What would be a good colour and design time choose for teak wood dinning table and what kind of other decoration and false ceiling accessories would match with it . Are teak wood dinning in and suits with other decoration for dinning .
