Remodeling Flooring Design Dilemma

Help choosing flooring

i had water damage to my engineered wood flooring. All rooms; bedroom, closet, halls, den and foyer. the walls are a pretty mid-tone grey with white trim. It is a contemporar/modern style. I think I would like to go back with porcelain stonelook. There is lots of natural light due to the number of large windows. Should I go with polished or unpolished?

Consider how slippery the tile might be, particularly in the entry if you're coming inside from the rain. Wood has something to be said for it - especially if you don't wear shoes on the house. Wood is warmer and easier on the feet.

Durable stone look tile looks great throughout the house, I think in your case the polished is the better choice than unpolished flooring.

Why would you want to do this? Is this for a child's bedroom? Even though it sounds like a lively idea, I think it would be disturbing and it would distract from any sort of decor that you're hoping to add to the room to finish it. If you want to do a multi-colour scheme, why not do a striped effect on one wall. Horizontal stripes would be more soothing than vertical ones. I always suggest that people purchase their bedding before they choose wall colours. Look for bedding that incorporates a number of colours which will inspire the paint treatment.

you can either go for darker grey tiles or a beige. It all depends on how grey your wall tiles are and if they have any underlying colours - are they are purple or green grey etc etc. How does the ventilator affect the look. Do you have a photo?

You must go English. The colour depends on the kind of finish that you want in the sense whether it is veneer or laminate. You get excellent laminate these days. Don’t introduce a dramatic shade, instead opt for something subtle and subdued. Infact if you have a great carpenter glass would be a great option. However it must be toughened and frosted white.

HI -- Hard surfaces in a kitchen is very hard on your back and feet and glossy would be very slippery . Have you looked at cork flooring ? Very nice looking and good to stand on.
