Solid wood cabinet

Need ideas to transform the solid wood cabinet into something which looks nice and adds some colour to the room. I was thinking of changing all knobs and colouring it in another colour, and giving it an antique look. Any suggestions please! The other pictures are of some that i liked, the wooden ois the one i am looking at transforming.

easily available. best to visit a large laminate stockist near you to see whole sheets in reality. They would stock other brands too and sometimes the lesser known brands can have a better collection.

Paint or veneer

Duco paint would not be suitable for a kitchen because one tends to touch the shutters and drawers with wet or greasy hands and you will always find brownish marks around the handles over a period of time. It is not easy to 'touch up'. It would have to be scraped down and repainted. Dark Veneer is a better option because it does not show wear that easily. But if you have the budget, the best option would be either solid wood which looks fantastic for years, or coloured laminate (since you mentioned paint) with matching edge binding tape for the edges. It looks pretty good and homogenous Look at the white shutters here. Zero maintenance! And this is teak. It's 9 years old. It looks as good as new. I have also done one kitchen in maple and another in pine because of the insistence of the owners, but I would not generally recommend light wood for rough use

how to achieve this finish for wood

Hi Harsha, This could be one of two things; a Matte Painted Door in Duco Finish (gives the best results) or a matte polished veneer. In case you're looking for a solid door without the wooden grain, then you should go for Duco Paint with a matte finish. Using veneer will give you wooden grains on the door and it can also be polished to a matte finish. This is the matte Duco finish which you can choose in wooden colours and this is what a matte polished Veneer will look like. Again, there are a lot of options to choose from so you can pick the veneer sheets that have few grains. I hope this helps, In case you need more assistance designing your home, please do get in touch with us! Best CUBSpaces Team Miloni 9921364291
