from what i see it looks ok, can i see better. i will warn that you are going into very bright cheerful decor, it is definitely not and never be the monotone sophisticat people love and want to be. personally i would enjoy it and be happy to play with you.

Beautiful chair, it's designed by Erik Kierkegaard I believe! If you had the money, it might be worth getting it properly upholstered in a 100% wool material. Kvadarat Hallingdal is a favourite of collectors!

i did not know they upholster in wool. is there anywhere where you can sit in such a chair without an itchy bottom?

I would go with a solid burnt orange color.

I have always found that unless you have a certain temp, it will itch through anything.

Now my mom's mcm chair did not have wool - i guess they adapted for florida sensibilities?

Not all wool fabric is itchy, because not all wool is the same. Different breeds of sheep, different processing methods and different manufacturing processes. I especially can say this in regards to Gabriel Savak I mentioned above, it feels like cotton to touch. Not that I actually want to disagree with you too much, because we've all experienced the wool you're talking about, on the subject I bought a blanket last year online; it was a tartan wool, and I didn't use it once because of how uncomfortable it is. Fairly redundant!

Mid-century modern furniture should not be conflated with Danish modern, in regards to my suggestion, though. I can only guess plenty of American MCM manufactured furniture had fabric to suit the range of climates North America had - or equally to suit it's domestic produce, i.e cotton(?). But Danish soft furnishings were predominantly wool.
