Both the plans are not 100% as per vastu .
if you want to follow vastu then hire a professional.

Please advice on pooja room vastu

Hi...NE is preferred as 1st option for pooja room. Construction shud be such that, keep god idols/photos facing EAST. Your sitting position shud face WEST. Door shud open towards EAST (right hand side). Once u enter, U turn left towards WEST and sit. This is best and gives better results.

pooja should not share wall with toilet and should face east. Rest is well designed to suit your requirements in the footprint. A large skylight above the stairwell will bring in more light. Full vastu compliance is not possible in limited city space and for practical reasons. For example, the grounding aspect of vastu is to be one with nature and do the least harm while building. Are we doing that?

Hello there, If you use water and oil on a daily basis for Pujan and plan for doing homa too nearby, it is best to avoid any paper and wood based material. Golden stencil is definitely good and you could draw a pattern as a backdrop. Else, more elaborate materials as glossy tiles, natural stones etc. could be beneficial too.
