Dytecture, I see you have the same idea I was going to post! Put that dining table close to kitchen's open wall! I mean who wants to get up from the table to use "the facilities" with everyone sitting right there? I was thinking of flipping the placement of the tv unit and one of the sofas. Back of sofa would create a sort of hallway into the bathroom. That way no problem with plugging tv in, hiding cords, etc. Cozy it up with choice of wall paint, art, area rugs, plants. Enjoy! PS: Add a small metal bistro table with a couple of chairs to the patio area. That is also great living space.

In the layout below, I took the liberty to move to vanity and toilet so you don't enter right into the toilet. I am not sure if you have room for that since I can't see the measurements of the width of your bathroom. This is something you can discuss with your architect. The main idea of the layout below is to block the original entrance of the closet so you can have a bedroom door. The entrance to the closet/bathroom can be where your dresser is and move your dresser closer to the window. You would have a choice of a door that swings inward, outward or a pocket door. Personally, I would go with a pocket door so the bathroom would feel more spacious.

Hi. Had you intended to upload pics? How much light do the rooms get and which way do they face?Farrow and ball or little Greene do a lovely range of neutrals but it would be helpful to know which way the rooms face. In terms of making it bigger, light and neutrals colours can help (cool colours make walls recede). Paintwise you could use the same colour on walls, floor and ceiling in different shades.Mirrors will give the appearance of a bigger room as will furniture on feet or a glass coffee table so you can see the floor. Either small pieces of furniture or a just a few larger pieces. Also pull furniture away from the walls or maybe have something at an angle. If you have a rug go for something that is similar in colour to the floor otherwise it breaks up the floor. For the evening try a few lights so you don't just have a central pendant light. It would be good to see pics though so people could make specific suggestions for your rooms

What a beautiful house, Shahbaaz! I live in a similar house - a 150-year-old colonial bungalow in Kumaon. You have already received lots of excellent advice from better-qualified people, so all I would say is, keep its age and heritage character the central theme. The white tiles do clash, I am afraid ... flooring with terracotta tiles would echo the roof and look lovely. The columns and the arches over the doors and windows are amazing. But I'd say, leave it all chuna-painted - there's a beauty and softness to it. Don't let the painters add too much neel (indigo) in the limewash -- in the hills where I live, they put far too much if I don't watch out and the result is a harsh white. Natural lime has a softer, creamy look.
