Hall planning

I am planning to construct a home with a hall dimension of 24' x 24' square foot area , can I place my steel beam within the roof at middle of my hall.?

Wow, you're asking.... what does the engineer say, is all I can say? Are you concerned about interior looks?

Anyone who would ask this advice on the internet needs to be spanked thoroughly. Then they need to go hire a local architect and structural engineer. If you are foolish enough to take any online structural advice, I only hope the building collapse doesn't kill someone.

Thanks for your response . I am not planning to get the walls removed . Just the window panels . If the panels are removed - it would become a flat surface . Not sure how good would that look - may be with curtains on . Curtains may not have any back rest / Support as it would be hollow inside Not sure if you got me right - else shall contact you tomorrow
