Perhaps a large round table might mean a rug is not at all necessary. It could be a metal tray table, or carved wood like Rebecca Mitchell Interiors illustrates. Ideas also to consider, using multiple tables can be found at http://www.houzz.com/multiple-coffee-tables. I also agree with comments above that some color is needed on the walls. You could then hang round mirrors, or an unusual curved shape like RMI shows above.

Hi Reena, It is better to have the chalkboard wall away from the bed or study table for health and convenience. Even the chalkboard wall can again occupy the whole wall or contained within a pattern like below: For painting, a great way of using up space will be to purchase small square canvases that she can paint on and as she finished them, have a wall dedicated to this. This wall can be the wall with smaller width of space available where 3 or 4 canvases( atleast ) make a row. These are the ones I am talking about: She can paint on them and eventually fill up a small wall: Try to stick to sheets that can keep up with this type of decor. Hi Tanmayi, Going for white walls is always safe, this will helps in giving a light feel to the room plus gives a lot of scope to bring in the patters and colours to the room in other forms (like curtains, cushions, wall art/frames, etc) PAINT SHADE(2 Options) Would also like to advice you to have a subtle wallpaper either in the niche portion of the TV wall or for the entire headboard wall. (Assuming the other walls may have windows or doors) SOME WALLPAPER REFERENCE IMAGES: Later you can gradually bring in other elements as per your taste and time and pull up the room together.
