Need help with the luminiosity level for my new constructed living room and kitchen/dining area....
Comments (5)I would not mix LED and CFL they have different looks and LED s are much cheaper to run. You can find a fixture you like and switch out most with LEDs, we have been slowly changing all of our halogen lighting to LEDs now that the LEDs come in higher wattages. We have 70 halogen lights in our house so I am doing 12 at a time, love the change. I like the fact that you can have a lot more lights off the same circuit too....See Moreidea please

Comments (6)Cornerstone Design, Thanks for your response. The electrician and false ceiling folks I've engaged are very competent, and are going to take care of installing the ceiling fans (of any type or kind I buy). My only task is to find and procure appropriate fans. Regarding the loss of about 10" due to the false ceiling: I only did a simple rectangular tray drop design for lights (approx 4-6"); however, the original ceiling was not straight, and approx 2-3" extra went in straightening it at the tray edges. Since the ceiling seems (perceived) low, I do not want to make it look lower visually. I am looking for fans that will be as close as possible to the false-ceiling without effecting its sweep functionality or energy efficiency. Any suggestions on where I can get good ceiling fans in Bangalore (all brands and varieties under one roof)? I would also like to see/consider the options you've mentioned (special fan like flush fan or ceiling swing fans). Where can I see/procure these in Bangalore? Thanks!...See MoreShare Your Favourite Diwali Moments & Win a ₹2000 Gift Card----CLOSED

The preparations for Deepavali start long before the festival date. First, the excitement for me would be the new dresses that are bought to be worn for Deepavali. Apart from this all elders visiting us buy us sweets and dresses also. Jeans, T shirts, Trousers and shirts were all bought for me by my parents. The other major excitement for Deepavali is the bursting of crackers and fireworks. This year I will burst lot of crackers but only eco-friendly. Earlier I used to be afraid of crackers. Now I have got over the fear of bursting crackers. My parents tell me that I have to be very careful while bursting. I followed their advice and there was no fire accident also. The third rejoicing aspect of Deepavali for me is the eating of sweets. We visit relatives and friends with sweets and snacks. They also visit us with sweets and snacks. We seek their blessings on the festival day. Gulab jamun, Laddoos, Halwas and Kaju cakes were my favorites. My grandmother tells me that the victory of Good over Evil is the reason for this celebration. She also says that the festival is to mark the return of Rama to Ayodhya after his defeat of Ravana. In all, I can say that Deepavali is the brightest festival to be celebrated in India.According to me,the delicious food associated with the feast makes us feel that this festival must come more often in a year....See Moreoldbat2be
