About Us

Created in 2000, CFH Design Studio designs custom homes along the Emerald Coast of Florida. We start with your vision and create a home tailored to your lifestyle and needs. Our design team will guide your project through design development to completed construction documents and recommend contractors and interior designers suited for your individual project. The natural environment informs our design process as we believe our best memories are made with family, friends and our connection to nature: family cook-outs, watching sunset from a balcony, preparing beautiful meals in a well functioning kitchen with natural light. You get the idea. We want to create that magical space for you and your family to enjoy for years to come. Owner, Chandra Hartman holds a degree in architectural design, B.A. in Sustainable Community Development, and a Permaculture Design Certificate. Contact us for more information. We had the pleasure of working with CFH Design Studio in 2010 when planning a 1000 square foot addition to our home. This space included an office, bath, and large master suite. Chandra's working ethics and design sense were impeccable. She understood our needs and created a plan that was exactly as we imagined. The new addition space blended with our existing floor plan and exterior elevation so well that it looks and feels like it's been there all along. We enjoy this space so much for it's functionality and beauty. I would recommend her for any project.

We had a wonderful experience with CFH Studio. Chandra designed our dream home and worked with us for over two years. She was very efficient, listened to our desires and came up with a great design for us. I would highly recommend Chandra to anyone looking for a home designer. One of the best aspects of working with Chandra was that she completely understood our needs in building a total green home. She managed to fulfill everything we were desiring and exceeded our expectations. It was a fun, exciting and overall great experience.

Chandra designed my home and what impressed me the most is her ability to listen to detail and then follow up by showing us the results of her work. I was having a hard time looking at the plans on pieces of paper, so she put my plans into a program that made it 3 dimensional and walked me through the rooms of my home. It was fabulous. Her knowledge of "green" building is excellent and I cannot wait to see the results of my newly planned "green home". Ground is breaking next week. It is very exciting.

After falling in love with northwest Florida's beautiful beaches, we were able to find property in a 30A neighborhood just west of Rosemary and Alys Beaches. Through a stroke of luck we happened upon a wonderful builder, Peter Horn of Artisan Builders, Inc, who then introduced us to Chandra Hartman of CFH Design Studio. Chandra was able to create a Florida cottage that she scaled down from a picture that we found in a house plan catalogue. She accomodated all of our ideas and made brilliant suggestions that culiminated in a versatile, "small is big", energy efficient house plan that would be suitable for a retiring couple with anticipated grandchildren or a growing family. Chandra was able to design all of this to fit on our irregular, woodsy property and deliver engineer approved plans to our builder. Our hats go off to Chandra!

I have know Chandra for over 10 years and worked with her on various design projects and actually designing a carriage house project both in Rosemary Beach and Santa Rosa Beach. Florida. She is amazingly creative with space and came up with innovative solutions for both of these projects. She is able to work with me to get projects ready to present to the client in a timely manner . Chandra is my " go to" person for any architectural needs that involves both environmentally sound and creative thinking! She is a delight to work with and I recommend her highly. CFH Design Studio (Chandra Hartman) provided architectural design services for a house we are building in Seagrove Beach, Florida. We selected CFH because of their expertise in both hurricane-code design and green technology; in addition, they have an excellent working relationship with the building contractor we knew that we were going to use. Chandra created a thoughtful and forward-thinking design that satisfied all of our needs. My wife and I both come from design backgrounds, and Chandra was very attentive to our ideas and feedback. We are nearing completion of the construction of the house, and we could not be more pleased with the design executed by CFH Design Studio.

We needed an experienced, forward thinking designer to take our ideas to a formal construction phase level. Our project manager suggested CFH Design Studio based his experience and based on CFH's open-minded approach to new design ideas and building methods. CFH was a perfect match. Drawings were very complete and very professionally presented. As the project unfolded, CFH was about solutions toward the end result every time. There was a true focus and synergy that resulted in the project coming together with our goals in mind - cost & efficiency without a loss of functionality.

CFH Design designed the remodel of our home on the water to bring in light and take advantage of the view, update master bath and added two walk in closets in the master bedroom. The front entrance went from dark cape style to all glass with raised ceiling very dramatic and the back enclosed porch with plastic windows into a raised ceiling to all glass sunroom looking onto the water. The contractor hired CFH Design for that job and we were very satisfied. As a result, we continue to ask for help with additional projects.
