Dan Karcher Construction has worked closely with Roberta and Steve Klar and their entire staff for several years. We have found them to be very creative in their designs and they diligently work to keep the owner's thoughts and wishes in mind while they develop the project at hand. The Klar team sets deadlines and they work hard to stay on schedule throughout the development process. Everyone on the Klar staff is very professional and knowledgeable and it has been a pleasure to work with all of them. Klar & Klar is our first choice when referring an architectural firm to our clients.

I worked with Klar and Klar with site planning for a 3 acre waterfront property. They are organized, respond rapidly to any questions or changes in plans. My contractor and I found them extremely professional and prompt. Their work was exceptional and we had no problem in permitting.

Our vision came to life when we interviewed and hired Klar and Klar Architects to design an "open concept" contemporary retirement home on the beach. Steve, Roberta, and their talented team of professional architects provided a five star experience from the moment we set foot in their office. The team guided us deftly through every aspect of the design process listening to every idea and concern. Our focus on this house was to be energy efficient, to stay true to "green" materials incorporating natural elements, and to meet the standards of the Miami-Dade County Hurricane building codes. We did this by installing 20 solar roof panels, limestone and cedar wrapping the interior and exterior walls, and beautiful windows that quietly withstand the hurricane force winds. Thorough, thoughtful, creative, artistic, detailed, efficient . . . Klar and Klar forged such a trusting relationship that we wouldn't hesitate to have them design another home for us.

We hired Klar and Klar to design our new home after interviewing several firms. We selected them based on their reputation, their experience in a variety of home styles, and their collaborative style. Our only requirement was to maximize the use of the waterfront lot. Roberta and her team worked with us starting with reviewing our ideas on the pros and cons of our current home. She took us through each step of the process. starting with establishing the interrelationships of living areas and outdoor areas, working from schematic design to construction documents. They listened to our concerns and incorporated solutions and suggestions. They offered new ideas that were incorporated into the design. To meet the project budget, they worked with us on "value engineering' elements and identifying opportunities for deferred future construction. They are currently working with us in designing a covered walkway from the garage to the house that will incorporate PV solar cells. We would highly recommend Klar and Klar to anyone looking at designing or renovating home.

Designing our home became a delightful process due to the expertise, professionalism, and wisdom we witnessed at Klar and Klar Architects, Inc. Our initial meeting and Roberta's visit to our existing home, which is the site of our now dream home, resulted in a comprehensive plan with very few changes during construction. The Klars attentiveness and availability at every stage of building was much appreciated.

Commented: Counters dilemna--Marble "look"Hi Chris, take a look at some quartz options. Quartz is very durable and offers many stunning faux marble looks. Some manufacturers to take a look at are Cambria, Silestone, and Caesarstone.

Commented: Which way to lay flooring? Change Directions?I don't think that is a problem. You are going to have a 1/3 type of pattern going on so it will be broken up by small parallel edges like the picture above.
