Benjamin has been both a brilliantly creative collaborator in the design phase and a focused professional in the drafting and building phases. His approachable and accomplished manner has been a great asset when dealing with planing departments, general contractors and builders, they understand pretty quickly he knows what he is doing and will do what he promises. Ben Farrell of Farrell Architecture is a great guy to work with. He really knows his stuff! I've worked with Ben on several projects, both large and small. I really appreciate that he took his time on the small stuff so we could get to the bigger, more fun, projects! In one project, Ben helped me to transform an old, dark apartment with several smallish rooms and a cramped kitchen into a bright, airy wonderful space with a big combined kitchen/living room/breakfast nook. Now, it's a great, welcoming home! Ben's got a great sense of humor, and is patient, patient, patient - which is really important when dealing both with clients *and* the planning department! His attention to detail is superb, and he is always focusing on the big question of "How will this feel when someone is living here?" He treats his projects as if they are his own home, which is really lovely. I'm looking forward to working with Ben on my next project!

I have known Ben Farrell professionally for over ten years. Ben and I have shared several projects, he as the architect and I as the interior designer. Ben is classically trained, which is a real asset and something you don't see as much nowadays. He worked alongside one of the more prominent architectural firms in San Francisco - Walker & Moody Architects. I know, from my own formal education in design, the value of having this kind of training and experience; it is invaluable when approaching one's own projects as Principal. It brings confidence, which is really necessary when managing a construction project. Ben has confidence, experience, and a good design sense (proportion, balance, understanding of what is appropriate) to be a very successful lead architect. He has all of the tools. Ben was the architect for our 2007 re-model. Ben was thorough, knowledgeable, practical, and a reassuring sounding board and source of solutions when crazy problems popped up (through no fault of his-- just the inevitable bumps that arise when renovating a 1905 house in SF). He worked well with our contractor, helped smooth things out with our neighbors, and was an all-around pleasure to work with. Though I hope to never go through another remodel of that scope again, when I do next need an architect, Ben will be the one I call.

Ben is a true professional and an extremely talented designer. He brings passion and an uncompromising focus to best fulfill whatever project's needs the client desires most, always with a high level of service. He is a team player that makes for a fun, creative environment to work in. He can manage highly complex projects and knows how to get the best out of those around him. 2100 Vallejo was a great project to be apart of and I look forward to working with Farrell Architecture in the future.

Mr Farrell is a very knowledgable architect. He works with his clients to understand how they use a space and designs into their needs. I had some ideas /inspiration about features for my kitchen. Ben was able to incorporate these beautifully into his design. I highly recommend his work.
