About Us

JRA is passionate about working with our clients collaboratively to provide lifestyle driven architectural design for residential projects. We believe in an iterative approach to exploring design problems in order to identify appropriate design solutions that meet our clients needs and budget. JRA is well versed in working in many architectural styles from traditional to modern. We may be the only residential architectural practice in the South Jersey area enthusiastically exploring the Modern aesthetic. Over the years, our passion for great design has not only won over our clients, but also the township review boards of which many our projects require approval.

Working with Jay Reinert was a fantastic experience start-to-finish. We hired Jay to create a renovation design for our house after seeing the amazing results of the design he created for my parents’ home. Jay is a true artist who is deeply in tune with how his clients will ultimately be spending their time in the new space. He makes a huge effort to understand not only how you’re living in the space now, but how your needs might change as you (and your kids) get older. His past work as a builder plus his natural eye for creativity and design are a unique combination. In our opinion, those experiences and traits give him a huge advantage over a traditional architect. We would whole-heartedly recommend Jay for anyone looking for a custom architectural plan. You’ll be lucky to be the recipient of his services.

Jay served as the architect & project manager for my recent house renovation (addition & kitchen remodel). From start to finish Jay was a true professional, super attentive to all of my particular wants & needs, respectful of my time, my finances, my house, my pets. He brought much needed creative and artistic design to the project & was present at every step with a compassionate and kind leadership. He truly loves what he does & takes pride in his work and lucky for me, it shows! Since home renovations are completely outside of my comfort zone, I must say that Jay proved to be super patient w/me, never flustered, and kept a great sense of humor. He was a terrific liaison between myself and all of the professionals involved in putting the project together & keeping it afloat until the very end. Jay is a great architect & a great friend!

We retained Jay to assist us with a part of our 1st Floor renovation to our 1890's Victorian Twin. As our project progressed we had an opportunity to remove an award vertical column that restricted access from the entry way and disrupted the overall flow of the space. Not only will it open the first flow it will give unobstructed views to a classic transom over the entryway. Jay (and his colleague) were professional, knowledgeable, & courteous during their site inspection and measurements. We very much want to retain the original character & charm of our house and Jay has a VERY unique knowledge of local historical homes, yet understands the modern lifestyle and desire to marry the two in a beautiful way. We HIGHLY recommend Jay for all your historical, or modern, architectural needs. You will NOT be disappointed.

Jay stepped into our project after our original architect could not continue due to health reasons. His services included revising architectural plans, reviewing contracts from subcontractors, and monitoring progress and last minute design changes for a two-story 1100 sq. ft. addition with a basement which was added onto a small two-story home built around 1870 (which is located in a designated historic district). We wanted the addition to blend as seamlessly as possible inside and out, while gaining some much needed space. Jay helped us make the many significant adjustments needed to our original plan and was available whenever we called him for advice. His professional and experienced input was invaluable to what is turning out to be a very successful project. Additionally he is a friendly, cheerful person to have on a team, and he recommended some of the top contractors that we used as well. We are very pleased with our experience with Jay and would not hesitate to recommend him.

Jay Reinert is not only an amazing architect, he is an amazing person. We hired Jay to restore and renovate our 1890 victorian. He was/is completely enthusiastic and understanding of our goals to renovate our home to suit our needs but also respect and honor the history of the home. He asked us what we wanted, what we needed and then offered suggestions on what he felt we deserved - an amazing master suite we would NEVER have come up with on our own! He is extremely easy to work with, welcomes input from the home owner and is involved in the entire process from plans to moving in! We can't say enough good things about Jay, he really is one of a kind. We have enjoyed every aspect of our renovation and actually look forward to the next phase. We HIGHLY recommend Jay for any project!
