I am writing this review to prevent anyone else from experiencing what I have. I have filed a formal complaint with the CSLB. Check with them before you hire any contractor. I hired this contractor to help with a kitchen remodel. This contractor put a mechanics lien on my home even though we paid him for everything that was completed (and some things that were left undone). I decided to fire him and he claims that I still owe him for work that wasn’t completed by him. He went through the house and tried to get more work using the “by the way” scenario. I paid for his work and he often referred to jobs he was paid for as “favors”. He provided estimates and if I decided not to do the work, he claimed I was bound to the estimate as if it was a contract. BEWARE, contractors can put a mechanics lien on your property for a small filing fee without proof or review by any authority. The burden to challenge and remove it, is on the homeowner. If I could do this all over again, I would do much more due diligence and check out the contractor on line, check references and I would also get a work schedule with completion dates that coincided with payment dates. I would also demand change orders and if they weren’t provided, I would have stopped work
