The Sharper Edge

Tom helped us built our patio in the backyard last year. Did a great job overall. Also fixed some minor issues a year later. He is a family man and It was a pleasure to meet his dad and his brother as well.

Tom and his team did a great job in building our sunroom. They were professional in all aspects, from the planning to the finishing. We look forward to having them back for our next project.

Proceed with caution... Was given a great quote for a basement remodel we wanted to do in a couple months, told it would be 10% off if we did it sooner, so we decided to go with it. First off, the guy who was here with the owner telling us what would he would do in the basement never set foot in our house after that, other guys were sent to do the work. We were lucky if they arrived by 930 am everyday when we were told they would be there earlier.The owner "general contractor" rarely showed up unless he needed to collect a payment from us, asked for final payment before it was complete "so he could pay his guys". Barely communicated after that when found some issues that needed to be resolved until we put a hold on the check, then suddenly he appeared again. The overall work was pretty decent but no one did a final walk trough with us, asked us to do it like we know what we're looking for. We also learned after the fact that one of the sub contractors (who did a good job) he hired was found on Craigslist and left to roam our house freely while we were gone without any kind of background check. Was preoccupied with other jobs and blamed those jobs for his lack of communication. The owner really needs to work on his customer service skills and how to be a real supervisor. I would not work with him again no matter what his price may be. Job site was also not left clean and ready for us to finish, he told us we could finish cleaning up texture off ceiling ourselves.

We invested in a beautiful stone patio by Sharper Image. They worked well with my wife's design preferences, tweaked the initial layout at our request and cleaned up the site when finished. We also used them to install large stone steps up from our walkout patio, an ornate stone sidewalk which matched the patio and to install similar stone in our front courtyard. I recommend Tom and his team.

Sharper Edge built a custom island with grill in our backyard. The design and work was built to my specifications. Work was complete, accurate, and clean. Tom, the owner, is quite personable and he will work with you to get you exactly what you want.

Tom and his crew did an excellent job on our project. From the design phase to cleanup they were professional in every manner. They met our expectations and then some. I will be contacting them for our future projects.
