About Us

Prescott Muir Architects, founded in 1976, has developed a national reputation for our finely crafted buildings and thought provoking urban projects. Projects are conceived from a range of perspectives: clearly defining a client’s needs, a thorough understanding of construction, and exquisite attention to detailing. The firm provides a wide array of services from planning and project definition to furniture design and building forensics. The firm is led by principals, Prescott Muir, Jack Robertson, Lisa Arnett and Jay Lems. Prescott Muir was elevated to the College of Fellows of the AIA, in recognition for his design acumen. I am an architect who was awarded a project to renovate and remodel an exisiting building to convert it into a rare and used books bookstore for a prominent client with an existing, highly respected bookstore. I hired Jane Collette to collaborate on the bookstore design and to prepare the architectural plans for the project. Jane's work was completed in a timely and professional manner. She is detailed-oriented, has a good sense of design, is a creative proble-solver and is committed to producing thoughtful, high-quality work. I would hire her again to do other architectural projects and I recommend her without qualification to anyone needing an architect dedicated to good design and a professional client-architect process and result. I needed schematics for a new guest house and garage. The project was complicated by the fact that the new structure needed to suit our needs now as well as work with a new main house some time in the future. The work was thoughtful and professional. In the end, we decided to postpone the project until we were sure about whether or not we wanted to go ahead and rebuild the main house at the same time. When we are ready to go forward, we will contact them again!
