They charged for a landscape design that was not very extensive. They followed what I thought I wanted and suggested plantings.

I've used Oakland Design a couple of times over the last few years. We had a tree (evergreen) put in last spring (2015) and it did well until late that fall. Now as we near the 1 yr. mark the tree has clearly started to die - a written e-mail to Steve and a phone call over the last 3 weeks have not produced a return call. I'm surprised to put it mildly by the lack of response, but I have it all on record and will move up the ladder if needed very soon. I will update this review ASAP.

A few years back, I had a complete landscaping re-do. The service was excellent, but some of the recommendations proved to be too much to keep up.

Commented: What are the tall plants with the huge leaves?Those are hostas. They can grow in zones ranging from 3-9, depending on the variety.

Commented: Love the idea of the sand combo with rockwhat you see in the garden is actually a rounded gravel not sand. although it is heavier than sand, on a slope of more than say 5-10% it could still wash away during a heavy rain.
