Mindful Garden Design

Our backyard was weeds and grass surrounding 2 septic tank covers. We didn’t know what we wanted, had never been big gardeners, but Laura asked great questions to hone in on the type of space we wanted to create. She came back with a wonderful plan to expand the deck slightly, create a dry river bed to handle rainwater flow, and even hide the septic covers. It has been a remarkable transformation and we have been able manage it ourselves with Laura’s great gardening advice. Laura is both talented and a delight to work with!

We love the yard that Laura created for us! We knew that we wanted something low maintenance but beautiful, and that we would love to have a tree or two – but other than that, we really didn’t even know what we wanted. Laura asked many questions to learn about our preferences, and it was clear that she took our feedback into consideration in her design. She sent us some short lists of plants that she was recommending, and she encouraged us to be honest if there were any that we didn’t like. It was a fun process, and Laura was very easy to work with. We love how everything turned out, and we’re looking forward to seeing how things change in the different seasons, and watching our little trees grow up. We also love the new stone walkways that replaced our muddy, weedy paths. And the drip irrigation system that she installed has been wonderfully convenient, and really has made everything super low maintenance so far. Laura, thank you for creating a yard that we will enjoy for a very long time!

Laura has transformed our yard, giving us gardens that are filled with blooms and foliage year-round. She created gardens with paths through a wonderfully diverse assortment of plants for us, recommending ones that we'd never heard of and in which we've been delighted (my favorite is the Twisty Baby Locust tree). She listens to us with patience and has been able to translate our often inarticulate imaginings into terrific landscapes. Overall, we feel immensely fortunate to have found her and wouldn't consider working with anyone else.

We have worked with Laura now for over five years on two different projects. Laura helped us turn our boring backyard into a family wonderland complete with play area, beautiful stone patio and walkway, lighting, pergola and sitting spaces and plants/grass that provide year-round surprises with minimal upkeep. Laura really listened to us and helped bring our personalities and style into a liveable area for our growing family. We will continue to use Laura for years to come!

Laura and her team transformed two neglected areas into gardens that we will enjoy for years to come. She removed a number of overgrown shrubs and trees. Then, in the front, she enlisted the help of an expert stone mason to build a low wall and walkway to surround a lovely, small garden of perennials, shrubs, and a small tree, the colors of which all complement our facade. In the backyard, she created a stunning pollinator garden that included some of our favorite plants as well as a flowing walkway. Throughout the project, she consulted with us and shared her design ideas and installation solutions. Most importantly, she worked very hard to secure the highest quality plants. I hired Laura to help me with the design and implementation of a small garden on the side of my house. She met with me and my husband and listened to what we wanted our project to look like.
