Millennium Hardwood Flooring

I had 2000 sq ft of hardwood floors I needed ripped up and replaced. I called 4 other companies for quotes. I went with Millennium. Why? Their product, their cost and their people. I worked with Seth. What a great guy. We had supply chain issues we had to deal with but Seth was right there with us the whole way. He turned what could have been difficult into a dream. The installers were awesome and so nice and friendly. I would use them again and recommend you do to. :)

We cannot recommend Stefan and his team enough. We stopped by almost by accident and found hardwood flooring styles that no other showroom could equal. We had them upgrade our builder grade tile and carpet and install wideplank flooring throughout our downstairs and stairs area. Crispin and the install crew were extremely thorough though the demolition and preparation process and very attentive to details. Custom stairs options they offered were unique to other showrooms we visited and we are very satisfied with product and the service we received.

Terrible experience! Had to sue for a judgment to lower invoice amount that was 26% ($1952) more than initial quote. Material was not available on installation date or another week. Timing of installation was crucial. I spent $2100 on paint to match the hue in the ordered wood and when PERLA was not available Stefan was pushing much darker wood (regardless that it did not match anything) so he could profit from sale. He lied to me stating that I will be not able to find 824 sf quantity anywhere in Austin for next day install. I had to find replacement myself to install on time and pay for a difference in price. All measurements (linear and square footage) were exaggerated in total almost 100 feet. Overcharged for Saltillo Tile removal; $19.14 for ONE TILE ($900 for 47 tiles) where $6 is the most for dustless removal. I still had to pay to clean the walls from dust. He promised credit for laminate and tile removal and then cheated me on $680. To save time when install was delayed due to lack of material I had to pay use someone to help me remove it. Moreover they used excessively leveling compound; 32 bags on 700sf (increased bill for over $1125 without consulting me) . This caused increase of floor level so much that my door was not closing and required repair. In addition, the quarter round could not be installed so I had to pay additional $360 to change baseboards. Overall the owner Stefan lacks integrity, he wants a customer to pay the price if something goes wrong with his supply or mistakes in installation. Stefan even lied under oath in the court room, but judge did not go for it. So sad! Also, poor workmanship builds on notion that customer will pay for mistakes anyway. I would not choose them ever again or recommend for competitive quote; you may end up paying more than if you initially would choose a higher priced experienced competitor who is honest and pays attention to customer needs and wants. Word of advice measure your floors and don't let them cheat you on measurements.

I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful it was to work with Millennium to get our recent home renovation completed. Stephan is so patient and kind, knowledgeable and is willing to work within your budget as much as possible. I would recommend anyone to contact Stephan to help get your flooring completed. We went to a few places and not only are the prices very competitive, no one else had an Stephan to help us and talk to us and explain the differences between our options. We hired millennium hardwood flooring three weeks ago to install new floor in our new town home that we just bought in west Austin, stephan helped us choosing the best floor we can have and it look amazing. Stephan and his crew were pleasant to work with, everything he promised he did and more even he came back after he was done and paid to fix some of the damage the previous painter and the blamer did. This company is reliable, punctual and they're extremely professional. We recommend them to everyone.

For some time I was stuck trying to decided between “regular” wood flooring and “engineered flooring”, it’s like deciding between authentic and industrial. I ended up choosing engineered floors, as I did my research and for me that was the choice to go for. As there are many pros to this, the biggest one I found for myself is that it installs over concrete floors, that did not only safe me time but of course money and the results are amazing. Another plus for me, is the fact that there is Unlike solid hardwood, you can float, stable or glue engineered wood. You can even find planks with locking mechanisms. Besides variety, you’ll also have a bit more wiggle room for minor mistakes. And because engineered wood isn’t as sensitive to moisture, your expansion gaps don’t have to be exact. Unlike solid hardwood, manufacturers assemble these products in layers. Their also less sensitive to moisture/humidity. The top layer is a wood veneer, while the core layers are composed of plywood, particle board or fiberglass. Just be sure to measure the humidity levels on your floor before installing them. I also thought, “can I try refinishing these in couple of years?” And yes! I can. Unlike solid wood which can be sanded an average of 7 times, engineered planks become less durable after 2-3 refinishes. That is a awesome plus, even though I don’t have to worried about this for a couple of years and maybe a decade it is good to know, I wont have my floors damaged and have them looking like new in the future. That is also obtained with good floor maintenance, as it does fade like regular wood with uv lighting, use blinds/curtains to protect it from the sun, near windows and such. Lastly just make sure you do your research before deciding, floor engineering can come with a awesome result. Houzz made it much easier.

Beware of these guys. The sales kid, Nick, did not properly measure my stairs, in return they were cut too short. The kid ghosted me and his boss. Three weeks later they came back to finish the job with no notice. Whatever right? Wrong. Stefan, the owner, decided to finish up for good ole Nick and ordered $2,000 of material and installed without confirming with me the additional costs -- material costs which were caused by Nicks incorrect measurements and cutting my stair noses 2inches short. As it turns out, if they cut a board two inches short on all your stairs, Stefan will expect you to pay for their errors! Stefan tried to double charge me for 8 extra stairs bringing the expected install 15% over budget. Downstairs looks OK, upstairs squeaks, and all of the baseboards they installed have 2" hammer marks on them. I now have another company coming out to correct install and craftsmanship errors. Overall, this company is the worst. It took an hour of arguing with the owner that the mistake was on their end (proof in attached picture) - and that two thousand dollars isn't an acceptable added materials cost. Stefan assures me he's the nicest guy you'll ever meet - he's not, this company lacks communication, scheduling mistakes, install mistakes are all going to cost you more in the long run - you've been warned. Select a more qualified company.

As an architect that designed and had my own personal house built, the quality of materials that go into my home is very important. I've had a fantastic experience working with Stefan over at Millennium Hardwood flooring. Their flooring is exceptional, only outdone by their service and attention to detail! Stefan was extremely responsive, which really made the project run smoothly. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
