We recently purchased a place in the Santa Cruz mountains with a house built in the 80’s that was all original and definitely showing it’s age. Matt and his team helped us transform it into an incredible modern farmhouse! We’ve remodeled many homes over the years and I have to say the quality and attention to detail from Matt and his entire team, including all of his sub-contractors, is phenomenal. A shout out to our project manager, Will, who was remarkable at staying on top of things and whose design recommendations we tremendously valued. The communication from both Matt & Will was always fast and they were always in sync, which is SO important. Matt’s team also did all the custom cabinetry where again, they paid incredible attention to detail and really worked with us to get the desired pieces we were looking for. The pandemic threw a wrench in everyone’s plans, but Matt worked within ordinances to get everything back up and running as quickly as possible. We thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone and are grateful not only for the amazing outcome but also the friendships we formed!

My home was built in the late 1950s by my Grandpa and Dad. When it came time to make necessary updates, picking the perfect contractor was essential because we wanted to modernize without losing the mid-century charm of the home. Matt George and his entire crew were exceptional. My home has transformed into a modern mid-century home and my family couldn’t be happier. I know there are many contractors to chose from in the area but if you want great attention to detail, communication, and a truly caring group of contractors and sub-contractors to work on your home call Matt.

I loved Matt from day one. He's friendly, analytical, creative, responsive and quick to offer solutions to unexpected challenges. We bought a townhouse in Pleasure Point and initially called on MG just to add trim and sills to our windows. We ended up hiring them to replace all the trim throughout the house, repair termite and dry rot damage, remove the chimney box, replace two shower enclosures and handle misc plumbing and electrical issues. Whatever we needed, Matt and his awesome team were there for us. We will definitely use them again!

Matt George of MG Custom Builders, recently finished a 5000 square foot remodel for my husband and I. He was there from beginning design phase to the end. We had a ramshackle ranch style home from the 80s and now we have a stunningly beautiful Mediterranean Villa. My husband is a musician and he absolutely adores his custom recording studio and music room that Matt and his team designed and built for him. I admire Matt for his brilliant ideas ,superb craftsmanship, and his always solution oriented and thinking out of the box mind. He has a calm and confident nature that is only second to his creativity. Matt and his fabulous crew have become like family to us and we look forward to our next project together in the spring. We know our home is going to bring us years of enjoyment and and that we will make many happy memories here with our family.

Matt George, MG Custom Builders, reconstructed an historic beach cottage. The project, as most remodels, was full of surprises. MG offered good recommendations on issues that arose, were committed to doing it fight and completed the project exceeding my expectations.

Matt George and MG CustoM Builders have just completed and amazingly beautiful renovation of an existing house for which I had the privilege to work on for the design. This project was very high end and had many fine details, to which he and his crew completed flawlessly. Matt was willing to find the right sub contractors to work with to complete this project, at the level highest level of proficiency that was required. Matt is a very knowledgeable professional builder, and I can recommend him highly for any residential building project.

Building our new home in Santa Cruz was a massive undertaking and a huge commitment of time and money. Matt George and his crew however, not only made it easy but fun! Matt is an excellent project manager always thinking 10 steps ahead so there were no last minute surprises or decisions to make. Matt worked hard at proactive communication with me and it was obvious that he really cared about the outcome of the project. This thoughtful attention to detail is reflected in the quality of their work and I highly recommend MG Custom Builders.

I have been working alongside and for MG Custom Builders for 15+ years. Matt has always been a very professional employee and now company owner. He definitely provides some of the best work in our area. It's always a pleasure to get a phone call from him to start a new job. I know MG does the quality work I my self enjoy being a part of. My wife and I bought a brand new home completely designed and constructed by Matt and his crew at MG Custom Builders. It really is essentially flawless... There is no other home in the area that comes close to it in aesthetics or caliber. The attention to detail, design, and quality are unlike any I've seen. Everything was done right and done right the first time, there is no doubt about its potential longevity. My wife and I find ourselves always looking around the house in disbelief that we live in such a beautiful home. I would not hesitate to call MG for any future projects, their work is simply unmatched.
