We would not recommend David. On first meeting and based on his background you think you're getting an amazing resource. After meeting with us he agreed to use e-mail as the main method of communication, because my husband and I work full-time. He did not want a written contract, but having worked with contractors before I knew a contract was critical. We signed a contract with him & paid a 1/3 deposit for him to begin designing. After he came out to take photos. I didn't hear from him for 2 weeks I reached out to check in and see how things were progressive. I received no response. I then waited almost 3 additional weeks before reaching out again and still received no response. After 2 1/2 additional weeks, I sent another e-mail stating that we wished for him to discontinue any work and to refund the remainder of any deposit. I finally received a call back. He plainly was receiving my e-mails and yet choosing to not respond or provide any type of timeline or expectation regarding how long it would take. A one line response setting timing expectations would have been huge even if it was to say that he was slammed with other projects and would be another x weeks before he could hop on ours. It has now been over a month since I asked that he stop work and refund our money. We received no additional response beyond that first call. During this time my husband finally called him after 3 weeks and he told him he didn't have checks, had already done some work, etc. and would mail it to us. It's been a day shy of two weeks since my husband's call and we've seen nothing in the mail. If he didn't have checks he could have gotten a cashier's check from the bank or a money order from the post office. To date we haven't received any drawings and we received no refund so disregard the required project completion date below.
