Ralph Perez is the owner that was contacted for my driveway paver job. In the beginning, Ralph was very attentive and personable, impressing me that he, as the owner, came to my house for the estimate. He told me he had many paver samples laid in the ground on his premises for viewing & picking out. When I went to pick my pavers out, I was told the ones I wanted would cost more. When I told them I decided against going with them, if that’s the case, a phone call was made to Ralph & he said “let her have it for the same quote.” ( As if a favor was being given.) After agreeing to the job, I called Ralph to confirm the estimate included “sealing” the pavers as that wasn’t listed on the estimate. I received a text message from him confirming “yes, that’s correct.” He later claimed he “misunderstood” me & wouldn’t seal the pavers as part of the estimate. When the pavers were delivered, there was no room to place them on my premises where we discussed. I got permission from my neighbor to place them in his large circular driveway. Ralph chewed me out unprofessionally, although he wasn’t at the premises to supervise the placement of the pavers. I’ve never been so humiliated as a “customer” in my life! He angrily said he’d get my driveway paved in one day!! Initially, it was to take 3 days. After the job was finished, unsealed, I had continuous flooding in my garage from the pavers not being positioned properly at the garage. After continued videos sent to him, he had his employees digging little “rock drains” & pounding the pavers at the edges to try to get the water to recede, then putting a small drain across the garage door floor & the flooding was still occurring. He finally had his crew come remove the pavers & build them up to prevent the flooding, which I had told him needed to be done from the beginning. Now, I have a sprinkler zone that I don’t use often but the pipes run under the driveway. Turned that zone on the other day & noticed a couple of areas under the pavers that are bubbling because they’re busted!! Low & behold, he has a blurb on his contact stating he’s not responsible for irrigation! So they can just come in, dig out the concrete to put pavers down & NOT WORRY about your sprinkler lines?? Just tear them out?? I have surveillance videos that shows every bit of their job from start to finish! Don’t take any verbal promises and don’t expect them to “be careful” of damages to your property!!

Comment from Curb Appeal Hardscaping LLC:
I would like to address all of Libby's concerns. She stated that when she came to the showroom, the pavers she chose cost more. Yes, that can happen, if a customer chooses an upgraded paver or, in this case, a different manufacturer than was quoted on the estimate. The reason for the difference of cost is square footage counts from one manufacturer to another. We quote each estimate with the manufacturer that has the closest square footage to the job, so the customer doesn't incur extra costs. Ralph was contacted at the time to see if he could do anything on the upgrade cost and he chose to absorb it which actually was a favor to her, which obviously wasn't appreciated. As far as the sealer, she is correct. I misread her text about the sealer , I said "correct". I told her that it was a mistake on my part that I misread her message and my contract specifically states that it is not included. Libby did redirect the paver delivery to the neighbors house. I was very upset, I didn't have a contact with the neighbor and now I was put in a position to risk damaging something on the neighbors property in order to retrieve the pavers. She never once stated that she didn't want the pavers on her property. We don't rush any job, you can't rush a paver job. Her existing driveway was removed, we installed base , pavers and sand with a concrete restraint. It wasn't a large driveway, I wouldn't angrily say I would rush through it. My office may have told her it would take 3 days, they aren't on the job to know exactly, they tend to give a worst case scenario. When she stated that she had water intrusion into her garage, I immediately sent my foreman out to address it. When that didn't work, we immediately installed a drain,. After we had a hurricane a few days later she said there was more water intrusion, we opted to put in a water hog drain, which corrected the problem. I feel that reviewing me based on coming back to correct issues should be a positive review, which according to her texts she was SO excited. Only after her running an unused sprinkler system a year later she was upset and gave a bad review. It does state in our contract that we aren't responsible for irrigation. As a majority of our customers can attest , we generally fix sprinkler lines damaged during installation. We have to include it into our contract as sometimes the sprinkler lines are imbedded into the concrete we remove which is totally unforeseen and not our fault if it is damaged. It is a protection for us, also we have had a few customers who said they don't have or use their sprinklers like this case so there is no reason for us to test the system before and after. We absolutely did not tear out her sprinkler lines, and are very careful on every job. She was very rude and condescending throughout the entire job and then wanted me to do her a favor and fix the sprinkler lines that she stated weren't in use. If I had done so, I'm sure this review would not had been given.
