Traditional Mountain Roost

Flooded with mountain light, this second-floor guest bedroom awaits visitors to this South Carolina home. Ivory walls set an airy stage, while deep taupe moldings and windows painted Sherwin Williams Black Fox add contrast and depth. Smocked draperies in a sea glass blue damask hang from iron rods stretched across wide, light-drenched windows. Woven blinds provide privacy and coordinate with the walnut hues of the stained hardwood floors. Bronze wall sconces with cream shades flank the grey stained bed that serves as the centerpiece for the room. Bedding of white, slate, taupe and aqua create a soothing palette. A bench covered in beige chenille is accented with bronze nails. Two landscapes hang on the wall in the vestibule, echoing the home’s natural views.
