Traditional Estate Garden
Various pruning practices are utilized according to the type of plant, and to perpetuate the design intent. The ‘Densiformis’ Yews in the Courtyard are maintained in a naturalistic but controlled manner. To keep that look they must constantly be opened-up with hand-pruning in order to maintain a particular size without shearing. Boxwood hedges are precisely linear while accent specimens of Boxwood are maintained in globe form. The privacy screen of Arborvitae is pruned to maximize density, while flowering shrubs are pruned to optimize their ornamental value and flower output.
