The Blue Louvre House

This 3400sq ft home is snugly fit into a 41' x 52' plot in a quiet residential neighbourhood of Norht Bangalore. The project brief was for a cluster of 2 homes, each with 3 bedrooms, individual living, kitchen and utility areas, the style being contemporary. The elevation is deftly designed as a playful mix of exposed concrete, rough white walls and vibrant blue louvred windows. Each one of these elements with its distinct colours, textures and the characteristics, sprinkled generously with the natural greens, weave a beautiful story together and make a bold eclectic statement. The tall blue windows which add a vivacious zest to the facade, envelopes a spacious well groomed balcony area, adorned with the traditional Athangudi tiles for flooring and the pergola above allows a fantastic view of the starry night sky. The spatial planning for the structure is tactfully dealt to provide ample privacy to both homes, between themselves and also from the outdoors, with no compromise of natural light and ventilation. The final product is a healthy spacious mix of 6 bedrooms, 6 toilets, 2 Living area, 2 Kitchen Dining areas, 2 sets of staircases, and generous balcony, utility and terrace spaces all woven cohesively to form an elegant contemporary home for 2 families spanning 3 generations.
