SPASA Pool of the Year 2013

Constructed within a centred offset, the spa is framed by the bi-fold doors of the home, creating a feeling of symmetry between the house and the pool. The graceful arc of the ornamental handrails provides another bridge between the two settings, doubling as a useful gripping rail as you descend the wide steps into the pool. The dark water colour produced by the bluestone brilliantly reflects the changing mood of the seasons – in summer the water is a deep inviting blue whilst in the cooler months the dark waters reflect the stormy patterns of the sky. This adaptability with nature further enhances the feeling that the pool has evolved from the native landscape, emerging as yet another natural beauty of the Peninsula’s Stony Creek Valley.
