Modernized Craftsman

Our client came to Marvista to reconfigure their kitchen and a portion of their first floor. Moving from DC with little square footage to a larger home in Mt. Lebanon to accommodate their family of 5. The already existing footprint needed to be modernized to create a more livable space, while keeping the integrity of the craftsman architecture. One architectural feature Marvista was sure to keep was the beautiful archways within the home. We were able to replicate the already existing and create another within the space. Relocating the entry door would then allow the space to transform. Client also made it clear that they wanted a place family could gather, eat, and entertain. Maintaining the dining room was a real treat for us in this design. It was requested to have a place for the kids to do homework and store school essentials, cubbies were designed within the island for easy storage. Along with a boot drop within the entrance for shoes, jackets, and hats. The design inspiration came from the exterior of the home with green accents carried into the interior.
