James Hardie siding in Bloomfield Twp

This charming home, located in Bloomfield Twp, was the first built in it's neighborhood, in the 1940's. It's located at the peak of rolling hills surrounding it, overlooking Walnut Lake. The original home was sided with cedar lap siding and the paint was peeling and blistering. All the cedar siding was removed, Tyvek housewrap and Tyvek taped seams encapsulated the entire home, and 7" James Hardie fiber-cement siding was installed. The James Hardie siding is their factory-applied, 3-coat, oven-cured 3 times, paint application they call ColorPlus. It is formulated for the northern climate and warrantied for 15 years from fading, chalking, yellowing, or peeling. The fiber-cement siding is warrantied for 30 years. Both warranties are non-prorated. The homeowner selected Soft Green for the lap siding color and Cobblestone for the shingle siding located in the front peak of the home. Both of these colors are in James Hardie's ColorPlus palette of 23 standard colors. The trim work was chosen to be Outdoor White and the real cedar shutters were painted Iron Gray. Finally, the hardware on the shutters was painted Bronze to match the gutter and downspout color selection. Incidentally, the downspouts are dressed out with decorative collector boxes, painted bronze to match. All painting on this job was a 2-coat process with Sherwin Williams' Limited Lifetime Warranty paint, Duration.
