A view of the new fence on the other side of the yard. We used shorter lumber here, to maintain the same height, from the exterior. We poured this low retaining wall then replaced the posts and beams before completing our carpentry tasks. As this borders the street, the height is ideal for privacy. First, we removed sod between the new fence and the sidewalk. After that, we installed gravel and drought-resistant plants to add a xeriscape garden touch. Our highest priority is curb appeal of the home, still, we keep the style of the neighborhood in mind. This transition creates a seamless space that matches both.
