Dressing Up a Stairway

The bare staircase is transformed by the shrub Cornus Ivory Halo on the right and Microbiota Deccusata in the middle. The Ivory Halo's variegated green and white leaves will drop in the late autumn, revealing bright red stems which provide color all through the winter. The Microbiota, will turn a burnished copper color in the winter. The Gallium Odoratum, a groundcover under the Ivory Halo, has fragrant white flowers in the spring.
