This home, designed for a couple with grown children, was inspired by a Southern Living Home of the Year, but with extensive design modifi cations to suit the needs of the client and the specifi cs of the dramatically sloping wooded site. Maximizing views from the main living spaces of the house and attention to solar orientation played a major role in the design of the floor plan. Extra height ceilings in the basement allow the client to practice his golf swing indoors. The basement also houses a stationary exercise pool.
