Contemporary Two-Finish Kitchen Design Reston, VA

Designed by Daniel Altmann of Reico Kitchen & Bath in Bethesda, MD in collaboration with John Varouijan of Stonebridge Builders, this contemporary styled kitchen design features Ultracraft Cabinetry in the Shaker door style with two finishes. The perimeter base and wall cabinets feature an Artic White finish complemented by the kitchen island, which features the finish Premium Black. The kitchen also features MSI Q Carrara Morro engineered quartz countertops and KitchenAid appliances. The home, a 1989 Reston contemporary, had some quirky features. “The kitchen area was very small, so removing some walls became necessary,” said the client. “That decision meant that one half of the kitchen has a cathedral ceiling, and the other half has a drop ceiling from the bedroom upstairs. Daniel did an excellent job dealing with this and other asymmetrical aspects of the space.
