Contemporary Rustic Open Kitchen

Changing from a u-shaped kitchen to a galley island design made the nook a convenient place to sit instead of a storage area. Removing the wall between the kitchen and dining made the entire area lighter, more accessible, social, and created much more storage and counter space. Removing the wall between the kitchen and dining as well as creating a galley design with an island opened up the spaces for better flow, more storage, increased sociability, and more light.
