Colors for Year Round

The Munstead lavendar is a hardy compact perennial shrub that produces fragrant dark purple spikes, and stays green year round. The 'Penstemon Mexacali' in the foreground of the photo puts out red-purple pollinator-friendly blooms nearly all summer long, which for a perennial wild flower, is a huge bonus. When the bushy prairie sunflowers finally lose the last of its' petals in fall, the remaining seed centers serve as bird forage and winter interest. Frosty snow mantles coat dried out stalks of prairie grasses and perennials, providing the perfect place for dancing sparkles in the sunshine to land. Color in the landscape is always there to see, you just have t be open to seeing it!
