Cloister Corner

The narrow existing hallway opens out into a new generous communal kitchen, dining and living area with views to the garden. This living space flows around the bedrooms with loosely defined areas for cooking, sitting, eating. A glazed gallery runs away from this space along the edged opening of the new addition connecting the children’s bedrooms to the rest of the house. The arch and curved ceiling adds visual interest to the narrow space while the accoya mullions provide definition and separation while crucially also providing and framing a visual connection to a new patio. Intended as an additional ‘outside room’ allowing family life to spill out seamlessly.
