Clarrie Hall Dam

Clarrie Hall Dam is located on Doon Doon Creek, in Northern NSW, approximately 15 km south west of Murwillumbah. The upgrade of the dam’s spillway and parapet wall resulted in the necessity for landscape plans, and documentation which detailed remediation and upgrade works for a number of picnic sites located within close proximity to the dam, as well as the redesign of a public viewing area to provide outlooks over the dam water. The viewing area was designed in relation to engineering objectives, which involved the raising of the dam wall, and had to also take into account firm budgetary limits. Vehicle movement within close proximity to pedestrian access was resolved through the integration of planted areas and feature tree planting. The viewing area provides an elevated location which houses a skillion-roofed shelter and seating orientated to offer views over the water.
