Bright & Airy Great Room- Aldie, VA

After moving into their new single-family home, this young family came to me needing a direction on how to make their Great Room cozy, family friendly, but sophisticated. To start the design, I wanted to blend together a variety of textures such as the natural woods in the console and woven shades, structured finishes like the gray lacquer on the coffee table, and the visual texture of gorgeous handmade oriental rug in fresh blues, grays, and creams. The overall neutral palette is clean and simple with hint of color which I brought into the space through the rug, large scale damask print on the chairs, and a few toss pillows. The finished design gives my client’s the bright and cozy room where they truly feel at home.
