A Victorian makeover with contemporary attitude in Chicago's Lincoln Park

An antique bank table is "adaptively misused" by interior designer Terri Weinstein to do double duty as a dining room console and a room divider between living and dining rooms which are open to each other visually. The stunningly carved bronze bank table still has it's original calendar, ink pots and unthinkably thick glass top. It's a great conversation piece and lends an interesting counterpoint to the contemporary architecture. Since no additional resources are used to produce this item and no energy will be necessary to destroy or dispose of it. The earth can BANK on that! Photos by Joe Glyda.
