A Ladder Storage Niche and Ladder - A Key Part of this Wine Cellar Design CA

Due to the great height (10') of this wine cellar design in California, and the fact that the wine racks reach all the way to the ceiling, ladders were necessary to access hard-to-reach wine bottles. Depicted here is a storage niche for one of the said ladders. It is a convenient place to store the ladders and have them out of the way when they are not in use. The wine racks are slightly tilted backward. This feature reduces the possibility of shaking the bottles during an earthquake. Malaysian Mahogany was the ideal choice of material for the wine racks.
