349 4th Street Townhouse

A contemporary infill development in Downtown Jersey City with a facade that complements, but does not imitate Jersey City’s historic character. In the heart of Downtown Jersey City, this project dramatically transformed a dilapidated townhouse, into an elegant 3-unit high-end residential townhouse. The building was arranged so that each of the units offer dedicated outdoor space; Unit 1 owns the rear yard, Unit 2 offers a rear balcony, and Unit 3 is deeded a full rooftop terrace with native plantings and views of the developing neighborhood. Brick was chosen as the primary material as to complement the existing neighborhood context, and Phenolic Panels as a secondary material to offer a sustainable contrast to the brick. Lastly, select wood elements bring a sense of dignity and warmth the residences.
