Another example of what I am anticipating with the columns and header.

My understanding of how the support columns and header may look post-remodel. Understand that the horizontal beam will run the length of the room.

This kitchen makes my heart melt. I love the cabinet style and color. I love the under cabinet lighting. Faucet. Clean. This is my style.

I like the cabinets and color. I like the range hood and side glass cabinets, although maybe not the inset in the glass. I do like how the glass helps break up the cabinetry a bit.

Two tiered island with side cabinet that extend the length of the island. Something like this, may help eliminate the "dancing room" in the kitchen.

I love the organization this pantry provides. Slides out and space on the doors.

Would like to include a charging station for electronics in final design.

I like this for cutting boards and baking pans.

I like the idea of a deep/wide drawer if we do a bench. It would be nice for me to have a place to put placemats when not in use.

I don't know if there is any room in the plan for something like this as we discussed the space next to the pantry will likely be more cabinet and countertop-like vs coffee/beverage center.

The one area of the kitchen that I am most uncertain about is the breakfast area. I always wanted bench seating by the windowsill. Is there anything reasonable we can do to accomplish this? I do like the round table and bench you suggested in earlier designs but still have trouble envisioning it since it will be off center with the windows.

Q

It appears this bench is in front of the windows a bit. While I don't need a back on the bench by the windowsill, is there any way to build up the height of the seat while still allowing access the the window cranks to open/close the windows?

bench. what about a hinged bench that opens forward, allowing access to the window...or an oversized cushion that can be removed/slid back to access the windows?

To me, this orange floor is like the color we have now. Thinking we should go light, instead of dark bc we get very little natural light.

Q

because we get very little natural light, Mark and I have been discussing the idea of light floors, instead of dark (which we have always wanted).
