There's a lot I like aesthetically, but I'd prefer a wash of more colour... green perhaps...
Good points for installing wet room
Storage is of secondary importance in a holiday cottage bedroom. As such, hanging space is often limited to a peg rail or shelf-hook arrangement, like this one. You may want to keep your wardrobe, but supplement it by installing a lovely, antique hanger. Use it for handbags, pretty PJs, a colour-coordinated collection of hang-ables, or a few tasteful towels.
A place at the end of the bed to perch and put on your socks is a positive addition to any bedroom. If it’s a hefty storage box for linens or even spare duvets as well, then you have one very useful, multi-functional item. Ottomans, like this one, are often clad in fabric and are perfect for the end of a bed, but you could also buy a simple wooden blanket box or storage bench instead.
The beauty of a custom-made storage headboard is its versatility: you can design it to fit your needs and bedroom layout perfectly. Here, as in some of the other examples, the headboard creates a useful division between the wardrobes and the bed. This allows easy access to the back and sides of the structure, which the designers have capitalised on by adding inset shelving at either end.
Satins, silks, ebonised wood and chinoiserie make for an opulent foundation in any bedroom. Throw in a four-poster and you need strong design skills to pull off something fresh and contemporary rather than dark and overpowering. And here’s how to do it! The bed itself, though chunky and curtained, is lightened by the pale jade and cream colour theme. And one curtain, just at the back of the bed, provides texture rather than acres of fabric beefing up the space around the bed.
The glamorous bed in this elegant, luxed-up room, on the other hand, is all about the drama. The space is large, with a high ceiling, so it needed a big bed, but one that wouldn’t block the beautiful wallpaper. This four-poster in dark wood has presence, but frames rather than obscures the paper, and complements the garden scene rather than fighting with it. The dark-painted cornice and picture rail tie the look together.
The niches in the wall above the bed. Low-level lights are a good idea, too... especially if on a motion sensor.
The lit niches with glass shelves are very nice, and the wall-mounted lights are good, too. I do like the padded headboard.
Roof windows, but on either side of the roof?
Maybe we could do a big bay window on the south side, with 2 doorways on either side of the bed through to the walk-through wardrobe area.
I like the dark feeling that let the view stand out... might be hard to do if the south wall is left open.
Love the glass ceiling over the cooking area... could we do something similar to the gallery cooking area in our room?

Naturescapes We’ve been bringing nature into our homes more and more over the past few years, and it seems wallpaper designers are making it even easier. Brands at Decorex were showcasing wall coverings that allow the homeowner to immerse themselves completely in a natural setting. Kariokas, for instance, has a wide range of wall panoramas, including Aleteo, an intricate design of cranes and swallows on the shore of a lagoon, while Coordonné exhibited its Rest Time collaboration with 10 students from Central Saint Martins. One of the nature-inspired wall murals features an evocative image of Dungeness beach (pictured) that allows the viewer to imagine themselves there at sunset.
Use some of the tiles I brought to mix in with simple background tiles.

In a room that needs to perform multiple functions, custom-made joinery can be a game-changer. The opportunity to design a piece of furniture to your own specifications will allow you to make the most of every part of the room. Oak-veneered MDF fits perfectly into every corner of the loft space, providing an open shelving system that wraps around the bed, under-bed drawers, a run of wardrobes on the opposite wall and even a wide desk.
If you’re looking to bring character to a room as well as functionality, a piece of custom-made storage could be the answer. Here, for example, Andrew Jonathan Griffiths of A New Day doubled up on style and practicality with some wardrobes that look like wall panelling. The cabinets fit perfectly into the awkward space and the push-to-open doors mean there are no handles to break up the expanse.
Or... instead of several insets, one long one. Similar to the all black tile shower.
Not so much insets, but the shelf that spans the length of the shower works, too. Also like how it was the same tile, but laid on the diagonal to create a subtle pattern & texture.
LOVE this built-in bench with the further inset storage, and really like the use of the floor tile in the insets. Again, flat floor.

This is a brilliant plan... EXCEPT for the legs on the floor. It would be better to have a wall-mounted unit with vessel sinks so as to get the height exactly right, yet keep the floor clear and reduce the damage from the inevitability of water on the floor.
It would be very cool to have a vanity bathroom sink like this somewhere in the house.
Nice colour, but a rubbish grout work. For the deep colour to work, the grout should be the same neutral tone.
An all-black scheme paired with lustrous brass hardware...what if we did an equally deep-toned tile in deep aqua or something, something lush and gorgeous.

I REALLY like this jungle wallpaper behind the bed. We could actually do something like this now in our current room...wouldn't take much to do it at all.
This would work better if the floor tiles had more of the cream from those oversized wall tiles.
Once more, pattern on the floor and super-simple everywhere else.
Again, a highly-patterned floor combined with simple walls and rustic style. It works.

Up until now, I hadn't thought this patterned floor looked nice...until I thought of the dirt and hair it would hide. However, that shower is not a roll in, and I wonder at either extending the concrete into the shower pan or the seam between the different tile types. But that pattern works ONLY if the rest of the tile is VERY simple.
That mirror is lovely, and the background of herringboned subway tiles is nice.
Like the rusticness of the washstand...and the penny tiles are subtle.
