Deck

While searching, I realized that a multilevel deck would achieve two things besides digging deeper into our savings! It will prevent a railing from impeding the view out to the backyard as well as separate the outdoor dining and cooking areas from a “hangout area” and give a destination to the backyard that isn’t in front of the boys’ bedrooms.

Just an idea for the backyard, which eliminates mowing entirely.

I like the idea of having a platform deck in the backyard somewhere. With a firepit. a destination back there! It's beautiful in our backyard so this would be lovely. Not a priority though. Lovely pergola.

Shape: no. Concept, yes. I like the idea of having kitcheny/dining type areas near the house and hangout/firepit type areas lower down. ***The lower level keeps the railing out of view***We should DEFINITELY do this.

Garden path deck. This is uphill, but it would be a nice way to encourage exploration of the backyard, and eliminate mowing!!!

Q

See? the lower level brings the railing below the level of the windows...almost to floor level. You'll look right over it!

Again, railing out of sight. I don't like all the benches here, but you get the idea.
