Kitchen
Like my kitchen, this has space above the regular cabinets. They glassed these in. Not sure if it makes the room look taller or not. Pretty darn high to get things out of there, but saves them from getting dusty. They would have to be beautiful, but I often use my beautiful things. Negatives: cost and ease of access.

Love this! Open bookshelf replacing the cabinets. Don't know how practical in terms of getting up and down, but it's not practical now anyway. Love the wood floors and the cabinet pulls although I don't think they would look good on my existing cabinets.
I like how light and bright this kitchen is. I would need a new dishwasher. The vent hood on this is white (my existing color) but the stove is the same. Wood floor would be perfect. Not sure how to get that done.

I like these open shelves and maybe the lighting. But what I like most is the simplicity and the 2 different types of coffee makers, the small tea cups, etc.
This looks so calm with the white cabinets and tile and the warmth of the wood. Although David Lebovitz says if he were to remodel again, he would have all stainless or marble counter tops.

I like how there are shelves above the sink. It makes me wonder about extending the cabinets to the ceiling. How would the area above the sink look then? Would upper (to ceiling) cabinets have to have something to link them?
Love that this could go in the closet and leave more cabinet space for taller things - say above the microwave.
