I will likely use the white subway tile as my backsplash. I also will likely go with dark, simple contemporary cabinets but do not care for the oversized bar style pulls people seem to pair. Instead, I like the added whimsical touch by using more unexpected pulls like the red seen here.

We have only seen these on TV or in magazines. More then one company makes them but this is by Rev A Shelf. I am trying to find somewhere, ANYWHERE in the San Antonio-Austin Cooridor that has some installed that I can try.

This is an example of the flooring I'll be going with. It's a vinyl product that looks like wood. It's the most durable option with a power chair and a dog. Also, unlike a laminate or hardwood it does not get slick when damp or barefoot in the same way.

In some cases, like my mother's kitchen, traditional granite looks great. I prefer in terms of my own taste, the look of sandstone or concrete. I know sandstone is a great option for an avid cook and baker like me, but it does require periodic sealing and concrete isn't as budget riendly and is also porous. So, if I was going to go granite it would be a honed slab like this, that isn't high gloss.
