It would be best to use a fix out gun rather than a secret nailer as the impact of the secret nailer may be too heavy for a light weight wall. We also think it is best to fix it directly to the wall. The result is fantastic!

Carlisle Wide Plank Floors

This is Original Surface Barnwood. You will normally use 2x4' s to build the wall framing, then you can install the barnwood directly to the 2x4's or install plywood first, and then nail it to the plywood. You would nail from the face of the board because you typically don't want to mill barnwood with a tongue & groove, otherwise you lose all the beautiful grey, weathered coloring. Hope this helps answer your question.
