Really like chevron and herringbone floors. Not sure if would is great for the entryway because of water and salt. Understated elegant. Maybe living room and kitchen? Does it bridge the historic and today?

I like the idea of a chevron pattern in the entryway/hallway/living space to connect it. What I like more is the chocolate shade of this oak floor, looks very rich! Not sure it would look modern enough though.

This is the same floor pattern and chocolate floor I love from a different angle. Everything else way too victorian.

This is my favorite. Love the contrast between the dark floors and the white risers on the stairs. Looks great with the glass railing. Bill: beautiful. Glass railings are cool.
